OSH Construction Safety Specialist Program

To encourage OSH employees to expand their construction expertise, the Construction SEP Committee implemented the OSH Construction Safety Specialist (OCSS) Program in 2009. The program consists of advanced construction OCSS modules scheduled through ETTA on an on-going basis.

By attending OCSS Modules, employees can work toward the OCSS designation while expanding their expertise in the construction field. Employees must complete a minimum of six modules, have completed all of the OSH core courses and be a career state employee at the time of completion. Once an employee has completed all requirements, they will receive a certificate recognizing their achievement in completing the program.

After completing six OCSS modules, the employee must submit an OCSS Application to their supervisor for verification. The supervisor will forward the form to wanda.lagoe@labor.nc.gov for review and approval. Once verified, the application will be processed and a certificate will be sent to the employee.
