Safety Shoes and Prescription Safety Glasses

Ordering safety shoes and prescription safety glasses.

New! Please note:

NCDOL employees that are required to wear safety shoes in the performance of their duties are allowed a reimbursement of $125 per pair of safety shoes every 12 months or up to $250 per pair of safety shoes every 24 months as allowed per the OSBM Budget Manual. Additionally, NCDOL requires all safety shoes must be ASTM and ANSI certified in order for employees to be eligible for reimbursement.

There are two options for staff to purchase safety shoes:

  • Option 1 - Staff that wants the agency to cover the purchase upfront of safety boots must be purchased directly from Grainger – no exceptions as Grainger is on mandatory STC 2711B.
  • Option 2 - Staff that would like to purchase from the vendor of their choice can still do so, and be reimbursed through the monthly travel reimbursement process. Be sure that the payment receipt is legible
