This OPN describes the NCDOL Occupational Safety and Health Division Special Emphasis Program for inspections of establishments in NAICS 311, Food Manufacturing.
During the latest revision the following changes were made - Statistics were updated. Hazards to be addressed during inspections were revised and reorganized. Sections on lockout/tagout, hoists and walking-working surfaces were added. Sections on machine guarding and electrical hazards were expanded. An appendix containing a checklist for lockout/tagout energy control procedures was added.
