This Operational Procedure Notice (OPN) provides NCDOL OSH Division guidance for conducting inspections and issuing citations associated with heat-related illness and potential heat-related illness in the workplace.
Changes from OPN 141A include:
- Addition of a paragraph in the Citation Guidance section directing CSHOs to document employee signs/symptoms of a heat-related illness;
- OSHA's 2019 heat memo was added as a resource; and
- Statistics were updated
