Updated instructions and guidance for handling COVID-19-related complaints, referrals, and severe illness reports in workplaces.
The cover memo was updated on 3/24/2022 to include COVID-19 coding information.
The cover memo was further updated on 9/26/2023 to strike through references to NCDOL procedures that were no longer active. Additionally, on 9/26/23, OSHA's interim enforcement response plan was attached to the cover memo rather than only being available through a hyperlink to OSHA's website. This was done to reflect the strikeout edits OSHA had made to their memo at that time.
Note: In North Carolina, the ETS was repealed in its entirety on 3/4/2022. This memo includes guidance on citing OSHA standards related to COVID-19 cases including the recordkeeping standards (Part 1904).
