National Incident Management System

Provides the OSH Division NIMS training recommendations for NCDOL personnel. Background: In 2003, Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD-5) [Appendix A], directed the Secretary of Homeland Security to develop and administer a National Incident Management System (NIMS) to provide a comprehensive national approach to incident management, applicable to all jurisdictional levels across functional disciplines. NIMS provides a consistent nationwide approach for federal, state, tribal and local governments to work effectively and efficiently together to prepare, prevent, respond and recover from domestic incidents, regardless of cause, size, or complexity. Since then, additional changes have modified and strengthened this directive.
