Confined and Enclosed Spaces and Other Dangerous Atmospheres in Shipyard Employment

This directive, which cancels CPL 02-01-051, provides current policy, inspection procedures, information and guidance to ensure uniform enforcement of the 29 CFR Part 1915 - Shipyard Employment, Subpart B - Confined and Enclosed Spaces, standard. This directive in North Carolina only applies to public sector employers and employees.

Changes include updated references, revised flowcharts in Appendix A, a revised format of the instruction text and revised definitions for 'safe for hot work' and 'safe for workers.'
