The amendments to the Marine Terminals Standard were made to provide consistency with the language of the Longshoring Standard. Also, non-substantive changes were made to some general industry standards to conform terminology usage as it applies to the marine cargo-handling environments.
Also reference NCAC 5 - The final rules at 29 CFR 1915 - Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Shipyard Employment and 29 CFR 1917 - Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Marine Terminals are incorporated by reference into the North Carolina Administrative Code and apply only to public sector employees of local governments of the State of North Carolina.
